This image was taken on October 22nd at 4:50pm, it was a sunny day and the sun was fairly low in the sky. Using a single focus point, I focused on her left eye.
I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: In terms of bang for your buck, there is nothing better than the 50mm f/1.4 lens. For less than $500, you can have an amazing lens to help you create compelling portraits.
Below is the original and edited versions. Color and light adjustments were accomplished in Lightroom, along with very slight skin softening. I also used a custom brush that I created to enhance the eyes (this brush is available to members of my Advanced Lightroom Workshop).

Beautiful eyes and the blurs of color in the warm light make this very appealing…thanks for sharing your camera and lens settings. The Nikon 700…that is so yesterday…I am only kidding …some may think that..but the 700 is a classic I will tell anyone wanting to get into photography try and find a used nikon
D700 .I use to use Nikon…until the d700 fiasco…I never forgave Nikon…for the way they handled that…I have since moved to the fuji xt1 and couldn’t be happier…thanks for all you do for the photography community and have a wonderful thanksgiving
