This image was taken on October 22nd at 4:52pm, it was a sunny day and the sun was fairly low in the sky. Using a single focus point, I focused on her left eye. And yes, her right eye is slightly softer, but this doesn’t bother me.

I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: In terms of bang for your buck, there is nothing better than the 50mm f/1.4 lens. For less than $500, you can have an amazing lens to help you create compelling portraits.

Below is the original and edited versions. Color and light adjustments were accomplished in Lightroom, skin softening and retouching were done in Photoshop.
